Eating My Way Through Reykjavik, Iceland

As a small island in the North Atlantic Ocean, the country of Iceland is unlike anywhere in the world. This also goes for the food. Since the country is a small island, they depend heavily on seafood and have some of the freshest seafood I personally ever had. But their food doesn't end at seafood, and just about everything I ate was really tasty, therefore I wanted to share when I ate (and drank) my way through Reyjkavik, Iceland!

Coffee is always a must, and the expresso in Iceland is pretty great too! This is my breakfast one morning of a latte and a cinnamon roll from Kornid.

My friend and I shared this milkshake, not because we wanted a milkshake but because it was called the Bruce Willis Hangover Helper from a place called Prikid.

A more typical American breakfast, also from Prikid.

Delicious salmon and fresh veggies from Icelandic Fish and Chips located in the harbor area of Reykjavik.

This was actually a kids breakfast from Cafe Paris, but no one ever said you had to be a kid to get the kids breakfast!

Amazing fish and chips from a food truck called Mia's Country Grill. This food trick is owned by a super sweet lady from England!

This is Mia's Country Grill food truck!

A delicious alcoholic drink also has a fun name, it was called El Chapo from a restaurant called Apotek.

More delicious happy hour drinks from Apotek! And no they are not all mine.

Hot dogs are a big deal in Reykjavik! There is a great food stand called Baejarins Beztu Pylsur that has the best! Make sure you get it with everything on it, looks weird but so good!

This is the Baejarins Beztu Pylsur food stand with the delicious hot dogs, be prepared because there is always a line!

Besides seafood, lamb is another Icelandic food staple. This is what they call a lamb donut from Public House Gastropub.

Also from Public House Gastropub, these interesting version of nachos were just amazing!

Seafood soup is a very common dish in Iceland and I couldn't travel all the way there without trying it. It looked a little scary to me but it was surprisingly really good from an amazing restaurant, Ostabudin.

Another delicious seafood dish from Ostabudin!

I had to share one more because the food there was seriously so good! This is yet another seafood dish from from Ostabudin!

That one time when we were drunk and really wanted pizza so we went to the place right next to where we were staying, The Deli, for some late night yummy pizza!

Three margaritas and wine are a great time for happy hour from a little place we stumbled upon called Taco Barinn.

We came for the drinks but stayed for the yummy tacos at Taco Barinn!

These were the bottles of alcohol that we purchased at the duty free at the airport when we arrived in Iceland. The front three are alcohol made in Iceland, the back two are champagne!

This adorable sheep drawing made me feel really bad for trying Icelandic meat. Poor little sheep, but hey there was happy hour too!

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED ALL THE FOOD AND DRINK PHOTOS! PLEASE SHARE THIS POST AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT, I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

The cinnamon bun looks so good and so do the Tacos! I never thought of visiting Iceland but it seems like a nice place to visit.
